Okay - the request has come out!  Now that rain is upon us and the playground may not be accessible, share your ideas for what to do on a rainy day with a class full of kids...

go for a walk under the awnings (sp?) let them feel the rain and talk about it...can talk about how it smells, what does it remind you of, what does it feel like..etc....

read a story outside in a dry place

bear crawls or crab walks etc on the sidewalk or hallway

we do cardio to music and do jumping jacks, hopping like a kangaroo, a rabbit and leaping like a frog then we feel our heart rate. We then do a relaxation time made up of breathing and stretching. Craver

I have some Jack Hartmann DVD's that we use to sing silly songs and move. (Movin' With Jack and Brain and Body Builders) I also have an Exercise to the ABC's that they enjoyed last year. (Rock N Learn Alphabet Exercise - I think I bought this one through Lakeshore but I don't remember for sure.) Julie
