Welcome to AISD Early Childhood Idea Forum!
Remember when we had our online classes and we were able to post conversations back and forth?  We are going to see if this blog format will work for getting the idea sharing going the same way.

To kick it off, lets share ideas for center enhancements for spring time.

I am going to use my baby pool and put easter grass in it then make a large “rainbow” – shape for the handle ….hopefully resembling a large easter basket then add plastic eggs and developing a game to go along!

I just recently changed up my bulletin board with my calendar. Instead of using pocket charts I am making posterboard with paper clips so I just slide in what I am doing and don't have to use staples or velcro. I am thinking of doing my letter wall like this also. Come by and check it out. Kristy Copeland

For Easter next week i will be using a large baby pool as an "easter basket" in my block center. I will fill it with easter grass and a plastic egg game of some kind. L. Steadham

Just checking to see if this works.

If anyone wants to post pictures of what they are sharing, email the picture to me with a caption in the email. I will post it on the blog. Don't be too surprised if the look of this blog changes over time. I will be trying to make more efficient use of the space. Sue

I have another question for all you smart, resourceful friends...My idea is to "dye" our Easter eggs in our room, by rolling them over paint covered textures. I am hoping this will be more fun and meaningful for all of my visually impaired students. So far I have come up with bubble wrap, foil, and light-bulb covers. My question is - do any of you have any of these items you would be willing to share with us? And, do you have any other texture ideas?

I have another question for all of you creative, resourceful friends...My idea is to "dye" Easter eggs with my class using several different paint covered textures to roll the eggs on. I am hoping this will be more fun and meaningful for all of my students who are visually impaired. The textures I have come up with so far are: bubble wrap, crumpled up foil, and light-bulb wrappers. My question is twofold - Do any of you have any of these textures you could share with us? And, do you have any other texture ideas? Thanks!

I remember hard-boiling the eggs and letting the kids decorate it with markers but I like your idea of incorporating textures to it! I'm going to try it as an outdoor small group. It's suppose to be nice and sunny all next week!

I LOVE my magnetic wall this year! I was tired of having to purchase so much velcro so I purchased magnetic paint from Lowes ($20 for a pint). I didn't even use the entire can and my kids love it.
